jacket Bust 36"
The beautiful jacket carries the label "Brook Tone, tailored by Nan Buntly, New York" and has a size tag for "size 13". I understand that "BrookTone" refers to the rayon fabric. The jacket is unlined, and the fabric is like a heavy-weight faille in a pumpkin orange. I have seen a 1951 advertisement for a Nan Buntly jacket, which boasted of its "handspan waist", which is most appropriate for this jacket with its nipped in New Look waist line. The jacket is Princess line (no waist seam) and fastens with 5 buttons at centre front. The jacket is decorated with 2 curved tabs in front of each shoulder, giving an almost Western appearance. The sleeves have 1½" wide turned back cuffs each with an open slit at the seam. The jacket is in Excellent condition with no faults or flaws, it looks ideal teamed with a dark coloured skirt or pants. |
