This gorgeous silk dress from the 1950s carries no makers tag but has a blue ILGWU label # 380437 and a tag for size 11.

I'm not sure of the technical name of the waist/hips treatment, I have always referred to this style as a "mushroom" dress.

The dress is in a blue, green and brown light-weight silk, and is fully lined with a deep bronze silk. The dress fastens at centre back with a 15" zipper.

The dress has a rounded scoop neckline, and has 4" long cap sleeves. At the waist is a 13" deep gathered 'peplum' which sits over a layer of net which gives some fullness to the 'peplum'.

There is a fabric belt to tie at back or front.

The dress is very smart and ideal for everday wear or even a semi-formal function. It is in Excellent condition, with no faults or flaws.
